The Idaho Nonprofit Center has been actively advocating that cities across the state include nonprofits in their plans for allocating federal relief dollars through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
We are pleased that the City of Boise has released more details on their share of federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The good news is that nonprofits serving a variety of need areas will be eligible for grants.
Currently, there is only one open RFP for nonprofits: serving mental health needs of clients in Boise. Details and application materials can be found here.
However, other grant opportunities are expected to go live later this summer according to the city’s ARPA website for nonprofits serving the areas of housing, food security, small business support, childcare, and other issues. Read the full list and stay tuned for information on those opportunities here.
Nonprofits that don’t serve Boise residents are encouraged to contact the city council or mayor’s office of the city that you serve in to see if ARPA allocation dollars have been set aside for services you provide. While some cities don’t have formal grant processes, they have been willing to contract with nonprofits to provide essential services eligible under ARPA funding. This is your chance to advocate for your needs and make sure that nonprofits are included in ARPA allocations where you serve!
