One of the things I love the most about the work we do here at the Idaho Nonprofit Center is the opportunity to innovate and pivot quickly to meet the needs of our nonprofit friends. It has been an honor to have grown our membership, expand our programs and services, and continue to find ways to create value for the investment in membership with us.
Very recently, a member of ours reached out with a request: possibly share an RFP (request for proposal) with our consultant members who might be a fit for a project. The gig is pretty cool and for a national nonprofit board on which the member serves! We sent the proposal out to our consultant list who fit the criteria and I’m hopeful that a few of them were interested in submitting a proposal. But this simple request from a nonprofit member to our business affiliate members sparked an idea.

Virtual is the new default.
As COVID-19 continues to impact how we live, work and lead, the method of delivering trainings and programs will likely continue to be largely online. Our organization recently held a statewide virtual conference and we are now in the process of planning a statewide virtual award ceremony. Until now, both programs have been long-standing in-person events. It’s not too late to take action!
A federal judge has issued an order to clarify that, for now, the U.S. Census Bureau must continue counting for the 2020 census through Oct. 31st after finding the bureau made multiple violations of an earlier order that extends the national head count's schedule. Nonprofits are trusted messengers in Idaho’s communities, and you can continue to help ensure a full and accurate count for our state by posting about the census and connecting with clients, donors, and your community at large to make sure everyone is counted. If you work with any of these Hard-to-Count populations, please consider reaching out to them now about completing the Census: off-campus college students; ESL speakers; Tribal communities; renters; and people living in remote areas. |
