Nominate a NonprofitIdaho Nonprofit Excellence Awards

WHAT: The Idaho Nonprofit Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Idaho’s nonprofit community. The Awards spotlight the important role of Idaho’s nonprofit organizations, highlight nominated organizations and their service to their missions. Nominated organizations will be recognized at the 13th Annual Idaho Nonprofit Center Statewide Conference, September 22nd.

WHY: Nonprofit organizations make outstanding contributions to Idaho’s quality of life. The awards support the philanthropic efforts of each organization and recognize their service and commitments. 

WHO: Nominated organizations must be a registered 501(c)3 and in good standing with the Idaho Secretary of State and IRS. The Idaho Nonprofit Center will accept nominations and each organization will be categorized by operating budget and geographic location. Note: Only one nomination per organization will be considered. Additional nominations will not be reviewed.

Register to attend the Nonprofit Excellence Awards Celebration!

1. Operating Budget defined as those with an operating budget of less than $250,000, and those with an operating budget greater than $250,000.

2. Geographic areas are defined as:

  • Region 1 counties: Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah, Shoshone, Clearwater, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, Idaho, Adams, Valley, and Lemhi 
  • Region 2 counties: Boise, Washington, Payette, Gem, Canyon, Ada, Boise, Elmore, Owyhee, Custer, Camas, Blaine, Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, and Twin Falls 
  • Region 3 counties: Butte, Minidoka, Cassia, Clark, Fremont Jefferson, Madison, Teton, Bonneville, Bingham, Power, Bannock, Caribou, Oneida, Bear Lake, Franklin 

WHEN: Nominations are open from July 15th through August 21st. Nominees will be notified by August 26th. 

WHERE: Awards will be presented at the 13th Annual Idaho Nonprofit Center Statewide Conference in Boise on September 22nd from  4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

1. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO NOMINATE AN ORGANIZATION?

In order for an organization to be considered they must be an Idaho-based registered 501(c)3 in good standing with the Idaho Secretary of State and IRS. 

2. MAY I NOMINATE THE ORGANIZATION I WORK FOR?

Yes. You may nominate an organization at which you volunteer, are employed, or serve as a board member.

3. MAY I NOMINATE ANY ORGANIZATION?

Yes. As long as the organization is a registered 501(c)3 n good standing with the Idaho Secretary of State and IRS, based in Idaho.

4. HOW DO I MAKE THE NOMINATION?

To nominate an organization click here.   Nominations will be accepted until August 12th. Note: Only one nomination per organization will be considered. Additional nominations will not be reviewed.  Check the list of nominated organizations (updated every Thursday).

5. MAY I NOMINATE MORE THAN ONE NONPROFIT?

Yes.

6. HOW ARE THE RECIPIENTS CHOSEN?

The Award Evaluation Team will review all nominations and supporting materials. They will select award recipients in two categories based on the organizations’ size from the three geographic regions of Idaho, for a total of 6 awards.

6. WHEN ARE THE WINNERS ANNOUNCED?

Nominees will be notified no later than August 26th. Awards will be presented on September 22nd. Register Now!

7. WHERE WILL THE AWARDS CEREMONY TAKE PLACE?

At the 13th Annual Idaho Nonprofit Center Statewide Conference in Boise.

8. WHO MAKES UP THE AWARD EVALUATION TEAM?

The Award Evaluation Team will be composed of Idaho Nonprofit Center staff, board members, and community representatives from across the state.

9. WHAT ARE THE AWARDS CRITERIA?

The Evaluation Team will use the information submitted and may request supporting documents (Board of Directors, 990 filings, etc.) to evaluate the nominees. 

Note: Only one nomination per organization will be considered. Additional nominations will not be reviewed.  Check the list of nominated organizations (updated every Thursday).

10. CAN PREVIOUSLY NOMINATED ORGANIZATIONS BE NOMINATED AGAIN THIS YEAR?

Yes.
