According to a 2014 study of small nonprofits, the number 1 indicator of fund development success is having a fundraising plan. In this hands-on session, attendees will learn the elements of a strong fundraising plan, consider their capacity to accomplish various tasks, and create a framework for their 2026 plan. Attendees will explore the top 3 donor motivations for giving to their organization, the messaging that resonates with those motivations, and the best fundraising methods. Attendees will also plan their pipeline for occasional donations, annual giving, and major gifts and their stewardship activities for those donors. The Top 5 Hiring Mistakes Nonprofits Make—And How to Fix Them
Hiring the right people is one of the most important—and most challenging—responsibilities nonprofit leaders face. Limited resources, urgent needs, and small teams often lead to rushed decisions, unclear expectations, and missed opportunities to attract strong candidates. In this practical session, TalentSpark will share the five most common hiring mistakes nonprofits make and strategies to avoid them. Attendees will learn how to define the ideal candidate profile, align the hiring team, take a more proactive approach to recruiting, and create a clear game plan for each search. Participants will leave with actionable tools, interview frameworks, and a more structured approach to hiring that leads to higher-quality hires and less time spent recruiting. |
