40 High School Students Looking to Volunteer - Treasure ValleyDoes your organization have a large project that needs 40 people? The TRIO Program, in the Boise community, is looking for a nonprofit to volunteer for on TRIO Day of Service on February 29, 2020. Formed in 2019, the Meter Foundation seeks to support nonprofit organizations by providing financial assistance and volunteers to fight the effects of poverty, promote education, and improve the quality of life in our local communities. Deadline: February 21, 2020 School Violence Prevention and Mental Health Training The Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Grant Program is designed to improve school security by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence. Deadline: March 3, 2020 Rural Development Broadband The U.S. Department of Agriculture – Rural Development ReConnect Program offers unique federal financing and funding options in the form of loans, grants, and loan/grant combinations to facilitate broadband deployment in areas of rural America that don’t currently have sufficient access to broadband, defined by the law as 10 Mbps (megabits per second) downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. Deadline: March 16, 2020 Colorectal Cancer Screening The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Public Health and Health Systems Partnerships to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening in Clinical Settings program provides funding for public health to partner with health systems and primary care clinics to implement evidence-based interventions (EBI) to increase colorectal cancer screening (CRC) rates among defined populations age 50-75 in communities with screening rates lower than the national, regional, or local rate. Deadline: March 17, 2020 Homeless Veteran Assistance The VA Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program provides funding for eligible entities to provide transitional housing beds or service centers for veterans who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless. Deadline: Ongoing Hardware Grants Program Is your nonprofit in need of technology to help meet your mission? Free Geek’s Hardware Grants program connects qualifying nonprofits with free and low-cost refurbished technology. They serve over 150 different organizations every year. Deadline: Ongoing Rocky Mountain Power Blue Sky Program Awards Rocky Mountain Power’s community-serving customers in eastern Idaho are eligible to apply for funds to build renewable energy projects. Blue Sky community project funding comes from customers participating in the Blue Sky program and is available to help cover the capital costs of installing new renewable energy systems for non-residential, community-serving sites within the Rocky Mountain Power service area (Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming). Deadline: Ongoing Volunteers Needed in Boise Area? BB Involved stems from Boise Brewing’s original idea of “Community Supported Beer” or CSB. There will be a handle in the taproom designated for CSB batches where $1 of every pint sold will be donated to charity. Volunteer Coordinators will work with one selected charitable organization per month to plan a volunteer event. It provides an opportunity for nonprofits to showcase their organization and receive extra help from volunteers.
