Donor Relations Post-Idaho Gives
By Evin Bask, Director of Membership & Development
Thank Your Donors
Many of you are probably thinking, well, yes, obviously… although everyone received a receipt for tax purposes, putting a little extra time into something more personal goes a long way.
Keep the Momentum Going
It is easy to jump right to the next program or event. However, don't forget to allow yourself some time to fully close out the last campaign before moving on.
Idaho Gives is a great example of a program allowing your organization to gain NEW donors. These new donors are a great one-time gift, but will not support the sustainability of your organization unless you cultivate them.
Be sure to download the donor information, input them into your email or donor database, and build on the relationship.
Welcome to the Family
New donors came to you for a reason. Whether they were a plus one at your recent gala, donated through Idaho Gives, or responded to your direct mail piece, they were pulled to your mission and moved to give. Keep the engagement going!
Invite them to an open house, your next event, or even for a coffee meeting. These donors are interested in your work, they want to see you succeed so be sure to let them know how their donation is making a difference in your organization!
Congratulations again to all the organizations that participated in Idaho Gives! Cheers to another great year of fundraising.
