Join an Idaho Nonprofit Center Committee!

Are you a member in good standing (business affiliates and nonprofits alike) that would like to volunteer your time to serve on one of our newly formed committees? 

Your involvement is so important to us and we need you AND your ideas. For us to fulfill our mission, and the initiatives of our plan, we want to include our members in giving their voice at the decision-making level for our annual conference, for Idaho Gives, public policy, and marketing & membership.
Conference Planning Committee:

Members:
 At least one committee member per the following areas: Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Moscow/Lewiston, McCall/Cascade, Nampa/Caldwell, Mountain Home (if possible), Twin Falls, Wood River Valley, Pocatello and Idaho Falls.  At least one board member should participate if possible. Members can be either nonprofits or business affiliate members.

Staff liaison:  Programs/Event Manager

Purpose: Support the INC in planning and promoting the Idaho Nonprofit Center Statewide Conference

Meetings: Monthly (with Nov – Feb off)

Term: Committee participation is for one year and is renewable annually.

Examples of Conference Planning Committee Tasks:
  • Support brainstorming and selection of conference theme
  • ​Provide input on breakout session track themes
  • Provide input on potential breakout session and plenary speakers
  • Review RFPs for plenary and breakout speakers and support selection of speakers
  • Communicate the RFP for speakers within their own community networks of nonprofits, businesses and consultants
  • Promote conference attendance, booth sales and sponsorship opportunities in their community networks
  • Provide counsel on conference registration strategies, pricing, etc
  • Review conference evaluations and provide input on changes for the next conference
  • Conference planning committee members will receive a discount on conference registration for their help

Examples of what the conference planning committee would not do:
  • Coordination of logistics such as food, beverage, venue
  • Communication to speakers/keynotes regarding their participation


Membership & Marketing Committee:

Members: At least one committee member per the following areas: Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Moscow/Lewiston, McCall/Cascade, Nampa/Caldwell, Mountain Home (if possible), Twin Falls, Wood River Valley, Pocatello and Idaho Falls.  At least one board member should participate if possible. Members can be either nonprofits or business affiliate members.

Staff liaison:  Marketing/Communications Manager

Purpose: Support the INC in outreach to current and potential members, both nonprofit and business affiliates

Meetings: Bi-Monthly

Term: Committee participation is for one year and is renewable annually.

Examples of Membership Committee Tasks:
  • Support the Idaho Nonprofit Center’s annual member thank-a-thon in November by calling a list of members and saying thank you
  • Be an ambassador for the Idaho Nonprofit Center in their community and help encourage non-members to join
  • Help identify new business affiliate members to fill in membership gaps in their community (such as legal, HR, consultants, etc)
  • Support the Idaho Nonprofit Center in promoting Center events and training opportunities within their own community to both member and nonmembers alike.


Public Policy Committee​:

Members:  Committee members are self-selected on a rolling basis, and are comprised of professionals knowledgeable about and involved currently or in the past with legislative issues.  The PPC consists of a chair, secretary, Nonprofit Center board liaison, and members at large. Minutes of PPC meetings are distributed to the Board on a timely basis.

Staff liaison:  ED/CEO

Purpose: The Idaho Nonprofit Center Public Policy Program is intended to increase the ability of nonprofit organizations in Idaho to improve the lives of their constituents through taking action on issues of public policy that affect the nonprofit sector as a whole.

Meetings: Bi-Monthly

Examples of Policy Committee responsibilities:
  • To communicate with Idaho nonprofits to improve the efficacy of their mission through public policy analysis and provide proactive guidance to the nonprofit sector as a whole on state and national issues,
  • To encourage nonprofits to advocate in the public arena and to provide them with the skills needed to do so,
  • To build a unified voice for the sector with which to inform and persuade decision makers,
  • To increase respect  and support for the nonprofit community among local, state and national elected officials and the Idaho public,
  • To create a strong and active Public Policy Committee which advises and assists the Nonprofit Center Board of Directors in developing and implementing public policy strategies


Idaho Gives Steering Committee

Members: At least one committee member per the following areas: Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Moscow/Lewiston, McCall/Cascade, Nampa/Caldwell, Mountain Home (if possible), Twin Falls, Wood River Valley, Pocatello and Idaho Falls.  At least one board member should participate if possible. Members can be either nonprofits or business affiliate members.

Staff liaison:  Programs & Event Manager

Purpose: Act as the liaison between Idaho Gives and your community! This committee with have monthly gatherings or communication to make sure every community around the state is prepared and engaged on this big day of giving! This committee will serve as the Idaho Gives expert and will encourage the community to participate in the employer partner program, nonprofit registration, and event hosting.

Meetings: Monthly throughout Idaho Gives

Examples of Steering Committee responsibilities:
  • Inform your community about Idaho Gives
  • Encourage your nonprofit peers to participate and plan local events
  • Utilize your local contacts to participate in the employer partner program​
