BSU Writing Class Looking to Help Nonprofits

Fifteen junior and senior level students are studying proposal development through the Boise State English Department’s Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication program. The students would provide the following* in conjunction with the nonprofit partner/mentor.

1. Three short-forms of persuasive content. Such as: 
   1. a letter of inquiry
   2. a fundraising letter or email
   3. social media content
   4. an infographic
   5. talking points for a meeting and/or an elevator pitch
   6. video
2. One long-form persuasive content. Such as: 
   1. proposal (solicited or unsolicited)
   2. grant application
   3. parameters of the long-form content will depend on the project, organization, or cause

Students will work individually or in teams of two. At the outset of the work, the individual student or student team will work with their partner to write an MOU to clarify the agreement and timelines for the work to be completed. Students will need to wrap up their work by the first few week of December in order to present their projects in the classroom the second week.
