​New PPP Open for Two Weeks

Starting Wednesday, Feb. 24, businesses with fewer than 20 employees can apply for relief through PPP. After two weeks, this opportunity will then open to those with 20+ employees. You will need to work with your lender to establish funding options.

​The Vaccine and Your Workplace

As an employer, can I require my employees to get the vaccine? ​The short answer is no, not always. The long answer is that it depends if employees are required to work in an office (you can require it but must offer exemptions for religious or disability related concerns). The best answer is to both encourage your employees to get the vaccine (even providing them with incentives to do so) and resources and information about where, when, and how. In other words this isn’t a black and white issue.

The Small Business Association has released a FAQ regarding this specific grant. Types of nonprofits that are eligible are: live venue operators, theatrical, live performing arts organizations, museums, and theatres.

​Mask Mandates and Idaho Nonprofits

Although COVID case counts, deaths, and hospitalizations in Idaho have decreased and mask mandates have lessened, health officials still state that wearing face coverings are one of the best ways to get us back to “normal” quicker. It will also protect Idaho from the already present variants that scientists know less about. 

Masks in public spaces and social distancing also help lessen the pressure on nonprofits that are critical to supporting vulnerable populations impacted by the pandemic. The Idaho Nonprofit Center encourages everyone to mask up and contact your local officials or your health district to express your own opinion.
