The Music Conservatory of Sandpoint is a nonprofit music and performing arts school. It currently serves over 250 students of all ages and abilities from high achieving students in their honors program to leisure students. This will be their third year participating in Idaho Gives. Last year the conservatory began advertising their Idaho Gives campaign a month prior to the event through “Facebook, online event calendars, magazine articles, radio, and postcards,” said Kathi Samuels, chairman of the board. On the actual day of Idaho Gives, “we sent a series of emails at specific times, as well as Facebook posts, and a video to make people aware of our campaign. The late afternoon was a specific time that sparked a lot of interest”.
“This was a board member led initiative. Members of the board also logged on, commented, donated, and spread the word. Idaho Gives is a great way to connect with current supporters as well as find new givers. It’s fun to see the link shared with friends of friends,” Samuels said. Samuels mentions that first-time participants of Idaho Gives should “educate your supporters before the day of, or hold an event. Create some suspense, keep it simple. Then execute.” Idaho Gives is a great way to connect with current supporters as well as find new givers. “It’s fun to see the link shared with friends of friends and is well worth the investment. Good luck to all!”
