The Idaho Nonprofit Center has evolved over the last twenty years and continues to look toward the future with its current search for a new CEO. Sheila Hennessey was recently appointed as Interim CEO to lead the search for a permanent leader and to direct the team of five staff members during the transition. “We have an important year ahead of us as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary and plan for our next chapter of statewide growth and impact. Sheila has stepped in to lead the Idaho Nonprofit Center’s transition marvelously, just as the board and team knew she would,” says the Center’s board president, Emily Border, Senior Marketing Manager at Cradlepoint. For more than a decade, Hennessey has worked as an executive recruiter focused exclusively on serving clients in the nonprofit and higher education sectors nationwide. She previously placed chief executive officers with the Idaho Youth Ranch, Make-A-Wish Idaho, and Family Advocates.
“Over the next few months, I will work closely with our board, staff, members, and partners to understand the important qualities, skills, and experiences we’re seeking for the future leader,” Hennessey says. “Transitions are a wonderful time to reassess, to innovate, and to emerge stronger.” The new CEO will be a champion of the nonprofit sector and its vital contributions to the quality of life in Idaho. They will expand the voice and impact of the Center and its members and work closely with the state’s elected officials. Amy Little, former CEO, was with the Center for nearly five years and expanded many of the organization’s signature programs (Idaho Gives, the annual nonprofit conference, and educational webinars). She was a well-loved leader and the Center wishes her the best on her new adventure at MoFi. The Center’s mission, to educate, advocate, and collaborate in support of stronger nonprofits, has not paused during the transition. The staff is ramping up for Regional Conference on March 16, which will focus on the resiliency of the nonprofit sector through the COVID pandemic.
