Mask Up Idaho!

Our mission at the Idaho Nonprofit Center is to educate, advocate, and collaborate in support of stronger nonprofits. Nonprofits are seeing (daily) an increase in demands for services with a decrease in financial resources to support their mission related work as a result of the impacts of COVID-19.

Social distancing, hand washing, and mask wearing are proven methods to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Multiple studies and research projects show that if communities follow these methods, there is a correlative reduction in the spread.

Please join us in the Governor’s existing Mask Up Idaho campaign and share our messaging within your networks. We ask the nonprofit community, their employees, volunteers, clients, and board members to support these efforts through a three pronged approach:

If you think that mask wearing is important but should be a matter of personal choice, here are steps you can take:
  • 1) Encourage members of your community to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible
  • 2) Take the One Idaho Pledge as an individual and as an organization
  • 3) Take a selfie wearing a mask and tweet it tagging @GovernorLittle using #MaskUpIdaho and encourage your community to do the same

If you think that mask wearing should be mandated at the local/regional level (and such mandates are not currently in your community), here are additional steps you can take (in addition to items #1-3 above):
  • 4) Reach out to city and county officials as well as your regional health district to ask them to put a mask mandate in place
  • 5) Encourage others in your network to do the same

If you think that mask wearing should be mandated by Governor Little, here are additional steps you can take (in addition to items #1-5 above):

  • 6) Contact Governor Little and ask that he consider a statewide mask mandate that requires masks in communities above a specified threat level or level of community spread

    OR

  • 7) Contact Governor Little and ask that he consider a statewide mask mandate that requires masks in all communities regardless of threat level or community spread

    AND

  • 8) Sign on to this letter (and share the opportunity in your networks) no later than Friday, August 28 by the end of the day. This letter will be delivered to the Governor’s office on Monday, August 31, 2020.
