Message from the Executive Director: October 19, 2016

​November is Idaho Nonprofit Awareness month and we couldn’t be more excited this year! Here at the Idaho Nonprofit Center we have a LOT of great things in store, with our primary focus being to raise awareness of our nonprofit sector as a whole.

Throughout this month we will be doing several things, including a Governor’s Proclamation of Idaho Nonprofit Awareness month, a nonprofit membership thank-a-thon, sharing two important research pieces about the sector including our Economic Impact Report and our State of the Sector Report (both available on our website), and 11 social media takeovers of our Idaho Nonprofit Center Facebook Page & Instagram accounts spread across the state and our nonprofit sub-sectors. Another fun opportunity will be over the Thanksgiving Holiday, and we invite you to join us at the Idaho Steelheads Hockey Game on November 26, 2016 where I will have the honor of dropping the first puck (and I’m hoping for a Zamboni ride!) and where we will have an opportunity to raise awareness about our center and the work of our incredible members statewide.  If you are in town, or coming to town, please join us. We will also be releasing our Principles For Good Governance and Ethical Practice guide towards the middle of the month, and at the end of the month we will publish our membership directory, an all-in-one directory of our nonprofit members AND business affiliates that will be available for download and printing. All current members will be added to the directory, so make sure you renew (or join) TODAY!

As you may or may not know, I am incredibly passionate about the impacts of our Idaho nonprofit sector. Throughout the month we will be releasing some pretty great data on our Facebook page about our influence on our communities and our state’s economy.

We hope that you will also take the opportunity in November to share your impact with your board, your community, your partners, the media and anyone who will listen and champion your work.
