This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Idaho Nonprofit Center. Although the Center has evolved throughout the years, the idea and passion behind the 2001 launch has never wavered. What started as a chance conversation between strangers in a coffee shop has grown to serve the 7,000+ registered organizations and includes monthly training, statewide conferences, impassioned advocacy, and Idaho Gives. We are humbled to work alongside and represent the over 64,000 nonprofit employees. It is always awe inspiring to see the vast impact the charitable sector has on our state.
In the last six years that I have sat on the board, I have witnessed the Center grow, stretch, and reinvent itself continuously in service of a stronger sector. It’s been a deeply gratifying endeavor and we are poised for tremendous opportunity ahead within our focus areas: education, advocacy, and collaboration. As we reflect and celebrate the accomplishments of our 20 years, we are also entering into a new chapter with new leadership. After an exhaustive search process, we are very excited to announce that Kevin Bailey has accepted the offer to join the Center’s team as our new CEO. Kevin, currently living in Pocatello and serving as executive director at the United Way of Southeastern Idaho (UWSEI), was a key player in the area’s collaborative efforts to strengthen the community. He expanded UWSEI’s staff and major gift program to provide more organizational sustainability. “I am thrilled to jump right into this leadership role for the nonprofit sector throughout our great state. We’ve all seen the ways our sector has shined and stepped up in so many ways over this past year and a half. I look forward to continuing to help lift up and promote nonprofits in communities large and small across Idaho.” – Kevin Bailey The board and I have every confidence in the bright future under Kevin’s direction. We are eager to see him build on past successes and further develop key programs and initiatives. Thank you all very much for your continued drive. The Center is extremely lucky to serve you and your efforts. We are hopeful that these next steps within our team’s history will help build an even stronger nonprofit sector.
