April 18, 2018, marks my second anniversary on the job here at the Idaho Nonprofit Center and I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by! Time flies when you are having fun, as they say! I am having fun but I take my responsibility to support our Idaho nonprofits very seriously. Part of that is to be sure we are always listening to you, our nonprofits and businesses, and working to deliver the programs and services you need. That might mean an A for effort but a B for content and delivery sometimes. We understand and that is why we ask you every year for your feedback and input. Based on your feedback each year we have made changes, some big and some small, to the programs and services we offer to you. This year will be no different and I’m excited to share with you three very important things. Better Member Portal and WebsiteFirst of all, on June 19 we will launch a brand new website and a brand new membership database. We are very excited because not only has our current system been difficult for us as a staff, but we understand that it hasn’t been user friendly to you, our members. We heard you and are making the change. The company we are using for both the website and membership portal is called WebLink. We are very excited about the robust tools and supports it has for our members, but also the fact that we found it to be very user-friendly from a staff and a member standpoint. One of my favorite features will be the ability for you, our members, to subscribe to specific email communications. Do you only want to receive our Nonprofit Navigator? Your wish will be granted. Are you interested in our Legislative Watch newsletter but not Idaho Gives? We can make that happen, too. We have heard this request from our members for the past few years and we’re happy that we can honor this request starting in June. In the coming weeks we will be sending you additional information via email outside of our normal communications, so please be watching your inboxes for details. As always you can call us if you have any questions. Planning for the FutureThe second piece of information I wish to share with you is that all feedback collected through our membership survey will be used during an all-day strategic planning session with our Board of Directors and our staff in May. Your input will help us shape the next three years of our work here at the Center to support you! Over the summer we will be fine-tuning our strategic plan and will unveil it at our conference this year, which will be held at the Nampa Civic Center September 20-21, with pre-conference on September 19. We look forward to diving in and bringing the right mix of programs and services to you. Wage & Benefit SurveyLastly, I’m just as excited about this final piece of news as anything else. We hear from you fairly often how important a current date Wage & Benefit Survey report is to you. And it’s just as important to us here at the Center, though mostly we use it as an advocacy tool. Did you know this report has a dual purpose? Which is why we need your help and your information. We will be sending you communications beginning mid-May when the survey opens. We are asking any nonprofits who have paid staff to complete the survey. Please help us wrap our arms around the compensation and benefit landscape here in Idaho in our nonprofit sector. We are doing our best to ensure the data you will receive is valuable and that the survey will not be too cumbersome to complete. Show AND TellAs always, we thank you for your membership investment in us here at the Center. I do not take lightly the investment you make in our organization and we hope to always do better for you. It’s the best way we can say thank you.
